Hello,
my name is Rodney Fuchs.
I’m a freelance music journalist who’s been writing for magazines like FUZE Magazine, MoreCore.de, Impericon Magazine, Backstage PRO, STUZ Mainz, It Djents, Everything Is Noise, Merkurist Mainz, and many more! I had a vegan blog called Rodney’s Vegan World and run an instagram-page called @rodneyreviews, where I’m reviewing some of my fav records. I book shows at Kulturclub schon schön in Mainz, and produce concerts as a freelancer. I’m also a social-media editor for ZDFkultur, while I’m an active speaker and lecturer at KVHS Mainz-Bingen. As a studied musicologist and archaelogist I’m having a broad knowledge of the music scene and history, while being focused on prog metal and opera within the 1960s. As a writer, I just published my first book in 2021 discussing my very own band’s (Monosphere) debut album „The Puppeteer“. Apart from this I’m a professional writer for press-releases, biographies, and scientific papers on music, counting on costumers such as Sony Music, Sony Classical, Reigning Phoenix Music, Atomic Fire Records, Century Media Records, Out Of Line, Metal Blade Records, Indie Recordings Norway among many unsigned artists.
Within the last years I had the pleasure of working with many great musicians, interviewing them and being piece of the music business machinery. My references include bands like Amon Amarth, Lamb Of God, Behemoth, Gojira, Bullet For My Valentine, Mastodon, TesseracT, Three Days Grace and many more. I’m internationally active and spent time travelling through Europe for journalistic reasons, while reporting on festivals like Rock Am Ring, Summer Breeze, Euroblast Festival, Complexity Fest among others. I also play in a band called Monosphere that has released 2 albums since 2021 and toured Europe & the UK with bands like Cradle Of Filth, Karnivool, DVNE, Wheel, Rolo Tomassi and many more!
So far I have written more than 1000 reviews on albums. Interviewed more than 200 artists and visited more than 1000 concerts.
